The Joy of Making a Gift
Consider the joy of making a gift to the Church today. The Christian tradition of giving is a privilege and an opportunity. What we now enjoy and cherish — our Church, our schools, our hospitals — were in large part given by those who preceded us. Living as we do in a free society, each of us has the opportunity to follow this example. We are fortunate in being able to give something of ourselves to those who follow us. We are privileged to be remembered far into t he future for our generosity today.

Churches exist on the donations that are received from the members and visitors. Christ Church in Maplewood is not different. The many generous gifts given pay for the pastor and the other church staff, the utilities, repairs, coffee and donuts, maintenance, etc.

Not only do these gifts keep the church wheels greased, but Christ Church in turn, makes many donations to other organizations and programs.
Christ Church has a long philanthropic history

The following are just a few of the programs that we help to keep running:
We support our local food pantry with donations of food, toiletries and periodic monetary gifts.
We support the St. Louis County GED program, allowing many students and adults to receive their high school diplomas.
We provide utility money for neighbors in need, keeping gas, electric and water on.
We support the Parish Nurse program. The mission of the Parish Nurse Ministries foster physical, emotional, spiritual and social harmony leading to healthy and healing relationships with God, family, faith communities, culture and creation. For more information click here.

To carry on the Christian tradition of giving – an opportunity that many people in this world do not enjoy – you may want to consider as a responsible Christian some of the following ways of giving:
Please consider donating to one of our many programs!
The Operating Fund helps keep the church alive! This is extremely important for all day to day needs including: payroll, utilities, etc.

The Emergency Action Fund helps us help our neighbors with utility payments in times of crisis.
The Parish Nurse Fund helps us keep our parish nurse to provide support for our church family.
The Benevolent Fund helps us to donate to programs such as, Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) and One Great Hour of Sharing.
